6 weeks to go!

Had our frist class today since the mighty rumble of Februrary, it was such a good feeling to know that we are finally now back on track to finish our diploma's. It was also good to clear up exactly what we need to do to finish...Since our Portfolios are still stuck in the middle of the Red Zone we now have to kinda remake one in this next six weeks. And to do this we are to carry on with our campaigning brief that we were starting on the day of the quake and make it good enough that it can also act as our Poirtfolio, since it has all logo development, stationary,websites,brochures and so on and so on involved. So it s a huge releif that we dont have to try and redo our portfolios as such, but to have something to add when we finally retreive them from the Red Zone.

I think I'm going to enjoy counting down these next 6 weeks!

Monday Start

I got the email to say that we finally can go back to finish our Diploma starting on Monday!

We still wont be allowed back into our original building due to other unstable buildings around our campus which need to be pulled down. So we have been offered a classroom at CPIT polytech for our last 5 weeks of study. This comes as a huge relief because money was looking quite bleak as well as the job market. But this way we can finish our Diploma alot sooner and I can start applying for work with that all important piece of paper attached to my C.V.

Portraits in the park

Today we all went down to Hagley Park for a picnic followed by a bit of a photo-shoot. We all had turns at taking photos and modeling...Here are a few of the pictures that I took (you may have to click on the photos to view properly). It was a nice way to spend the afternoon out in this summer-like weather!

I put together a little homemade photo studio yesterday. It was cool playing around with lighting and pushing to try and get the best result. Pretty happy with how they came out...I'll put some of the photos up soon!

It has taken me a couple of plays to get into his new album "Lasers"but I'm at the stage of loving it at the moment. Awesome hooks and really powerful messages throughout. This song here is the second single from the album and probably my favourite. But at the end of the day its Lupe...there is not alot better.

2011 Portfolio

Here it is, my portfolio that I have managed to put together with whats on my hard-drive. It isn't everything that I have done this year but there is more then I first expected there would be. Feel free to comment on this...things that I could work...take out...or put in, all feedback welcome.

Portfolio day

Started working on a PDF portfolio today with the work thats on my harddrive, its not all my work but it should be enough to show a good example of what I can do.

I met a contact in the weekend who works for one of the biggest design companies here in Christchurch, he has said that if I send through my portfolio to him, that he will look over it and give me feedback on it. So I'm pushing myself to get this portfolio done but trying to make it good enough that he has no choice but to recommend me for the next available position there.
