Holga-riffic

Finally managed to get some photos up that we have taken with our holga lens. Its quite tricky to use but we still getting some good results and its fun playing around with it and finding what its capable of doing. 

Letter press printing is freakin awesome

As I was trawling Christchurch's opp shops for something cool to display my portfolio in, I was severly distracted by the tray loads of these Letter press printing letters. They had so many different fonts and point sizes. One day when I have earned my big dollars I will buy a letter press.

Sagmeister

Look what I got for my birthday, just the coolest book about the coolest designer. Ever since I heard of Stefan Sagmeister and saw some of his work I was dying to get my hands on his book. Ive only just started reading it but I know already that this book will be what I turn to when I'm in need of some inspiration…love it!

This is a shot I took last weekend out at Maungati Rahs family home. These flowers were almost a flouro red and really stuck out. I was stoked cause the picture captured the colour quite well.

Sorry I haven't updated lately, just been flat out with end of year portfolio this week. But I will blog my arse off this weekend with some cool stuff...so yeah.

Life after course

I applied for another job last monday for a place called Waterford press who are looking a Junoir Graphic Artist. I got a reply today saying that they have recieved my application and that they will consider it next week and should hear back from them then. I've got my fingers crossed extremely tight  for this job, it would be an awesome one to get. Still haven't heard back from Speedy Signs, I can only guess no news is no news I would like to hear anyway.

I love this, it was just a nothing shot at the Avon river yesterday but after I did a bit of treatment to it before course it came out really nice!

This first photo was taken at our friends roof top apartment, and this is their view now that the old earthquaked damaged building is slowly been taken down. I like the  range of colours in this pic and the cool structural lines from the buildings.

I came across this guy every morning last week as I was walking to course, he was a beautiful musician and he was dressed to match. So it was nice just to sit down and listen to him for 5mins before school and he made for a nice photo in the morning sun.
